Creating change
A simple mindset shift that has the potential to transform everything...
If you are anything like me, you have tried to change your life a million times but nothing really worked long term.
The New Year's resolutions soon start to feel unachievable, and accepting that the life you are living just doesn’t match the life you dreamed about growing up can be a tough pill to swallow which isn’t encouraging either.
You try to trace back the steps to where you lost yourself, but the truth is that we got it all wrong.
Most of us believe that our external circumstances are defining how we get to live, when, in reality, it is the opposite way around.
Let me explain…
Our thoughts alone have the power to create worlds, and they do it everyday. We are just not aware of it.
At first, our thoughts only exist in our mind: an idea, a mere possibility but as we repeat those thoughts to ourselves, they seem to get more real and we form beliefs around them.
Thoughts that once were fleeting and impermanent, now manifest in our mind as truth.
Once we believe our imagined truth to be actually true, we act on it, and we slowly create external outcomes that match our internal perception.
The more we experience what we believe to be true on the outside, the more we strengthen the beliefs we choose on the inside.
Our whole reality is the felt experience of our own thoughts.
The good news is that our mind doesn’t make any difference between a positive or negative narrative, it just accepts whatever you choose to believe to be true, and this is powerful.
So how is this useful for creating a life that you truly love?
It is, without exaggeration, the foundation of everything.
Once you understand and accept that your own thoughts are what your reality is made of, you can start getting curious.
Start taking inventory. Chances are that you have a whole bunch of thoughts that are a variation of the very same narrative.
If the story you keep repeating to yourself is not encouraging and helping you build your best life, then you can choose to let it go.
And don’t get me wrong, this is most likely not an easy process, but it is the only way to change things sustainably.
There is no way that you can create a life that makes you feel your absolute best if you continue to poison yourself with destructive thoughts.
As you slowly let go of stories that hold you back, beliefs that keep you stuck and people that reinforce doubts, you will notice a shift and everything changes from there.
Don’t expect this to feel good in the beginning. Chances are, that you build these beliefs many years ago and they have kept you safe, so your mind will try resist to let go of something so fundamental but you are free to slowly reconstruct your own point of view, so that your vision supports your dreams and helps you to initiate your best life.
